Summary


We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist with a passion for Education and Training to lead on Education and Training for the NELFT Pharmacy team trust wide, being a key expert in the learning and development remit.

The successful applicant will:

Provide leadership and strategic direction in education commissioning for pharmacy Trust wide, fostering a culture of continuous learning and ensuring education aligns with organisational and national priorities and makes a real difference to patient care.

Develop, coordinate, and lead a trust wide pharmacy staff education and training programme.

Develop and lead on work to improve the quality systems and governance around education and training, supporting with continued oversight and review.

Support directorates to help drive improvements in any training provided or commissioned.

Lead on the implementation of national workforce strategies and link in with appropriate networks, including external partners.

Establish, promote, and embed a culture of learning, including acting as a role model for others.

Work with the Trust Medication Safety Officer to share best practice through effective review of medication related incidents and quality improvement initiatives.

Work effectively with the Chief Pharmacist and wider multidisciplinary staff, including the learning and development team, to deliver on the education and training agenda.

Raise the profile of pharmacy within the multidisciplinary team, at trust-level and within the NHS as a whole, to improve access for patients.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will includemandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.



Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).



High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a pro rata for part time).
