Our client takes great pride in being the ‘total cleanroom package’ – offering a comprehensive range of standard and bespoke controlled environment design & build solutions, as well as a wide array of high-quality cleanroom-related products and services.
They are currently seeking a Cleanroom Validation & HVAC Engineer with specialist skills in cleanroom qualification and HVAC performance testing to join their expert team.
Are you the right person for the job?
• Full UK driving licence
• Proven experience in validation and qualification of cleanrooms and controlled environments, including commissioning, performance testing, and documentation to GMP/ISO standards
• Hands-on expertise with HVAC systems, commissioning, and maintenance – ideally holding HTM 03 healthcare ventilation compliance knowledge
• Recognised cleanroom qualification such as CTCB-I Professional.
• Experience with cleanroom-related systems: door installations, panel construction, filter replacement, and environmental monitoring systems (EMS)
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
What will your role look like?
• Perform full cleanroom and HVAC validation activities including:
Particle counts to ISO 14644-1 classification and GMP Annex 1 requirements
HEPA Filter Integrity Testing (DOP)
Airflow velocity and volume measurements
Pressure differential checks and balancing
Temperature and humidity mapping
Air visualisation
Recovery and containment testing
Performance testing of separative devices such as Biological Safety Cabinets (BSCs) and Laminar Airflow (LAF) units
• Commission and qualify cleanroom environments to ISO 14644 and GMP Annex 1 standards, producing full Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) documentation
• Carry out HVAC performance assessments in accordance with HTM 03-01 for healthcare facilities and other regulatory frameworks
• Upgrade and maintain HVAC and associated cleanroom systems, including EMS, door systems, and cleanroom fabric
• Conduct both planned and reactive maintenance on critical systems (HVAC units, air compressors, UPS, BSCs, LAFs) to minimise downtime and ensure compliance
• Provide detailed service and validation reports, with clear recommendations for remedial actions or system improvements
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and calibration equipment to the highest standards
• Act as a technical point of contact for clients, ensuring works are completed to agreed specifications and documented for regulatory audit readiness
