We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join the Ealing SLT team working in PVIs. This role is to co-lead a pilot project with a Level 7 Nursery Officer which aims to focus on supporting private and voluntary (PVI) nursery settings in the timely identification and support of children with Speech Language and Communication Needs.
Project planning:
To conduct a scoping exercise in terms of the number of PVIs in Ealing
Use local intelligence from LA to identify the PVIs that cater for the top 20% most deprived areas in Ealing
Use local intelligence from EY consultants, ES SEND, EP and therapies to identify which of those PVIS would benefit from increased support around early intervention.
Project evaluation
Evaluate the pilot project through qualitative and quantitative means e.g. practitioner, parent/carer views, child’s progress, outcome measures.
Look at how this pilot project will be embedded within existing LA/Health provision to ensure early identification and quality sen support continues in each PVI
Identify the second set of PVIs to be targeted in Year 2 of the pilot.
This will be an ideal opportunity for an assistant who is looking to develop their experience in paediatric speech and language therapy who also has values that align with those of our organisation and is passionate about making a difference to children and young people.
The needs of the communities we serve can change requiring the service to evolve and develop. In light of this, the duties required in this role may also change in line with the service and therefore the successful candidate needs to be flexible to accommodate this.

Working within this role will require travel across the vast Borough of Ealing to a range of settings with your base being located at Ealing Broadway (Carmelita House).
