Summary

If you're successful, you’ll lead a team dealing with the financial strategy, planning and performance management of schools finance portfolio, ensuring robust stewardship of the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) and associated funding streams. The role will provide expert financial advice and assurance to senior leader, schools and external stakeholders, supporting the delivery of high-quality education services across the city.
Your leadership in managing DSG will ensure effective use of public funds, invest in teaching and learning helping the city's economic success, funding for disadvantaged groups.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- CCAB-qualified accountant
- Proven experience in managing large, complex education or public sector budgets
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
The following criteria are not essential but would be beneficial:
- Experience working with Schools Forum and external audit bodies
- Knowledge of academy conversion processes and school funding reforms
- Strong understanding of DSG funding mechanisms and local authority education finance
