Summary

A vacancy has become available for an Apprentice Technician to join our successful Fleet and Transport Team and be part of our journey on the road to greatness.

You will be an important part of the Fleet & Transport team as you will play a vital role toward ensuring skilled technicians are available to keep SWISCo’s fleet of vehicles and machinery in fully complaint and working order.

This role will be to learn from the Skilled Technicians on how to maintain and repair SWISCo fleet and machinery. It is also essential that attendance to all mandatory training lessons/sessions by the apprentice as directed by the training provider is undertaken to enable a successful completion of the apprenticeship.

From time to time, you may be expected to work elsewhere within Torbay or carry out different tasks to what you normally do.

You may be expected to work outside in all weathers if assisting on breakdowns and will be on your feet carrying or lifting. The sites where you will work have some uneven ground and a number of hazards such as moving vehicles, plant and machinery.

You will be provided with Personal Protective Clothing that you will have to wear at all times and a range of training in methods of safe work that you must carry out.

It is important that you are friendly and helpful to the people you meet who are generally polite and will be appreciative of the work you are doing.
