Deputy Nurse Manager
£41,7000 per annum
37.5 per week (including supernumerary hours)
Our client, a warm and friendly nursing home dedicated to supporting older adults with residential, nursing, and palliative care needs, is looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Nurse Manager to join their leadership team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to take on a key role within a highly regarded service that prioritises kindness, dignity, and respect in every aspect of care. The successful candidate will help guide a skilled team, ensuring the home continues to provide exceptional care in a safe, nurturing environment.
As Deputy Nurse Manager, you will work closely with the Home Manager to lead and support the nursing and care teams. This role includes both clinical responsibilities and protected supernumerary hours, giving you the time and space to focus on quality, compliance, staff development, and overall care coordination.
You’ll be a visible, supportive leader, promoting a culture of empathy, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- NMC-registered Nurse (RGN or RMN)
- Experience in elderly care, preferably in a senior or leadership role
- Confident in care planning, clinical governance, and medication management
- A positive, inclusive leadership style with excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of current regulatory frameworks including MCA/DoLS

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager in the daily running of the service
- Lead and mentor nursing and care staff, promoting professional development
- Oversee clinical practice and ensure safe, person-centred care
- Maintain accurate care plans and medication records
- Conduct audits and assist with compliance and quality assurance
- Build strong, respectful relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
