Education and Skills – Supported Employment
We have an exciting opportunity in the Salisbury area for a full-time Employment Coordinator / Job Coach to join our Wiltshire Employment Support Team (WEST).
WEST empower individuals to find meaningful employment and economic participation while reducing dependence on support services. We're dedicated to promoting diversity in the workforce by collaborating closely with local employers. The team are a part of the wider Employment and Community Skills Team, who have an established pathway to work for young people with SEND.
As an Employment Coordinator, you'll be at the forefront of transforming lives. Working in a highly motivated team, you'll guide individuals with SEND to secure and maintain paid employment, while also providing vital support to their families and networks. Your responsibilities will include; undertaking travel training to enable customers to independently travel to their place of work and providing appropriate job coaching support to customers who have achieved paid employment. You will explore the world of work for people with disabilities, while working with employers in Wiltshire to negotiate paid employment opportunities.
Teaming up with education providers including Wiltshire College, you'll mentor interns countywide as part of supported internships, negotiating work placements for them by creating strong bonds with local employers. Through building and maintaining these working relationships with employers, you'll help create a wealth of job opportunities in our community.
We're seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with the essential qualifications and skills, who is comfortable with working beyond the typical 9-5 day, including weekends. If you have good communication and organisational skills, experience of supporting people, have a knowledge of learning disability or autism, and the confidence to liaise with businesses throughout Wiltshire, and are passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals into work, we want to hear from you!
Let's build brighter futures together!
