Milton Keynes University Hospital is seeking dedicated and compassionateRegistered Nurses (including newly, recently or soon to be Qualified Registered Nurses)to join our Medical Division.
As a Registered Nurse, experienced or newly/recently/soon to be qualified, we invite you to step into the next chapter of your professional journey and make a real impact at MKUH. We are looking for passionate Nurses ready to bring empathy and excellence to patient care.
We are offering 30 hour contracts, with a possibility to increase to full time hours in the future, and are looking for Nurses to work in Acute Medicine, Frailty, Respiratory and on our Discharge ready ward. There are also opportunities in our Cancer Centre and with our partners in the community; they will join us on the interview day.

The main duties of the role listed below are those we expect our Registered Nurses to be competent and confident to perform by the end of their Preceptorship Programme. Support and guidance will be provided by our Practice Education team, your Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and your fellow Registered Nurses to enable you to transfer the skills you gained during your training into practice in our hospital.
Clinical Responsibilities
• To be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans of care ensuring high standards of evidence-based care.
• To recognise changes in patients conditions and respond appropriately in line with Trust policies.
Professional Responsibilities
• Maintain professional behaviour at all times, promoting and representing the organisation with a positive image in line with the Trust's values.
• To comply with Trust policies and practice within the NMC Standards and guidelines.
Management and Leadership Responsibilities
• To supervise unqualified staff, to ensure that they have the knowledge, skills and resources to carry out delegated aspects of care.
• To participate in student training, as required, ensuring that a suitable learning environment is maintained.
Education and Training
• To assist, when necessary, with induction and orientation programmes for staff ensuring that the needs of the ward are met.
• To participate in the sharing of knowledge with colleagues.
Service Management
• To keep abreast of issues relating to Clinical Governance, Quality Assurance and Clinical Effectiveness and carry out duties in accordance with these frameworks and standards.
• To assist, when necessary, with the initiation and evaluation of projects or research within the ward. To assist the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to set objectives for self-evaluating any change and helping to initiate same.
General Responsibilities
• To undertake specific responsibilities individually negotiated to reflect the practitioners skills and interests and the needs of the ward.
• To develop high standards of nursing care, reflecting the beliefs about nursing practice outlined in the ward philosophy and Trust values.
