Summary
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Ward Manager to join the team at Abingdon Community Hospital, working on the Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (OSRU) . The role will be based on OSRU in Abingdon with scope for internal rotation in the future.
You'll work with the Ward Senior Management team to provide clinical leadership and staff management to ensure delivery of a responsive high quality patient focused service.
Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit is a 20-bed inpatient unit based at Abingdon Community Hospital. We provide a short period of inpatient rehabilitation for people who have had a stroke, are registered with an Oxfordshire GP and are not able to be discharged directly home from hospital.

Main duties of the job- Lead the registered and unregistered nursing staff in support of their professional development and in the promotion of best practice.
- Effectively working in partnership with key members of the Multidisciplinary Team in the hospital and locality to promote and facilitate effective patient care and discharge.
- Influence the development and implementation of policies, protocols and guidelines relevant to the ward area.
- Improve the quality of care received and the experience of patients and their carers, through the implementation of initiatives which reflect the National Service Framework for Older People.
