21 hours per week, Term Time

Temporary up to 2 July 2026

£29,010 - £29,594 pro rata / £15.90 - £16.22 per hour

£30,251 - £30,871 pro rata / £16.58 - £16.92 per hour

The above amounts include Distant Islands Allowance

We are seeking a suitable candidate to join our dedicated team of staff in Rousay Primary School.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working with young children in a structured context. This post is rewarding and requires an energetic, thoughtful person, who can work as part of our team in a caring, learning environment.

For appointment at D:

You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy AND successfully complete a relevant qualification to allow registration with the SSSC as a Support Worker (Day Care of Children) within 3 years of taking up the post.

For appointment at E:

You should hold a recognised qualification that enables registration with the SSSC as a Support Worker (Day Care of Children) e.g. NC in Early Education and Child Care, SVQ Level 2. You are required to register with the SSSC within 6 months of taking up the post and maintain this registration.

This post is subject to a Level 2 Disclosure Check with PVG in respect of regulated work with children.
