Summary

PC/EPOS Field Service Engineer | North West England (covering North & North West) | Full-Time | Hours of work are 9:00 am to 5:30 pm with flexible working options| Up to £34,000 per annum

Our client is a nationwide IT support organisation established in 1988, working in partnership with manufacturers, software houses, and system integrators. They offer their clients a structured “break-fix” service along with engineering resources for installations and rollouts.

They also provide support for network infrastructures, including server build and support, data centre hosting and management.

Are you the right person for the job?

• Valid full UK driving licence and a passion for driving
• Basic PC knowledge with practical and logical problem-solving skills
• Experience or willingness to learn PC/EPOS installation and repair
• Ability to perform tasks such as:

• New PC installations and OS reloads
• Repairing receipt printers and cash drawers (including springs and solenoids)
• Diagnosing and repairing laser printers and barcode scanners
• Virus detection and removal
• Independent investigation and resolution of technical issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to follow structured procedures
• Flexible approach to working hours and travel demands


What will your role look like?

• Cover client sites across the North and North West of England
• Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of EPOS equipment, including PCs, receipt and laser printers, cash drawers, bar code scanners, CCTV (IP-based), digital signage, and network hardware
• Work to structured schedules and maintain constant communication with customers and the call centre
• Carry out PC rebuilds, software reloads, virus removal, and hardware fault diagnosis and repair
• Provide excellent on-site customer service with flexibility around working hours, including overtime and weekends where required
