Summary

To support the continuing development of a safe and efficient Smoking in Pregnancy Service, that meets the requirements as set by local and regional guidance. To Plan and deliver expert clinical advice and support for women and pregnant people, and their families in a range of settings, primarily in the clients home or hospital. To manage own caseload of smokers who are pre-conceptual/pregnant and post-natal including partners and families. To use a high level of communication and interpersonal skills in order to empower clients to make behavioural changes in relation to smoking according to individual needs. To work to support the safe delivery of the Smoking in Pregnancy service including providing access to Nicotine Replacement Therapy and other stop smoking medication and aids, performing a risk vs benefits assessment of clients individual case, monitoring and adjusting medication as appropriate. Participate in the education and training to support of other HCPs to support delivery of the Smoking in Pregnancy service. To liaise closely with members of the multidisciplinary team, Midwives, Health Visitors, General Practitioners and other specialities as required. Participate in audit, data collection and submission as required including SBL. Assist in the preparation of policies and reports and presentation of information as required. Maintain a high standard of record keeping and maintenance of all databases related to the Smoking in Pregnancy service.
