Summary
We're looking for someone to operate our Sage Accounting system. We are a small family business and this job was previously handled part-time, 3 days a week, so would be looking for something similar. Knowledge of the Sage software would be an advantage as all accounts are channelled through that.
We design, sell and install kitchens to new-build developers and retail clients so there is zero-rated and standard rated VAT involved, as well as reduced rate for refurbishment projects.
We buy our furniture items from Germany as well as from the UK which has additional accounting requirements, all fairly straightforward.
We employ sub-contractors to install the kitchens, so there are returns to be submitted monthly for tax deduction etc for them.
Quarterly VAT returns as well as the usual monthly and year end reconciliations and submissions to our auditors, all form part of the work in the accounts office.
Our head office (and this job) is based in our unglamorous warehouse premises in Chertsey, not in our very glamorous showrooms in Weybridge!
We are a small and friendly team in a very busy company, not used to advertising for staff, most of whom have been with us for 10 years or more. This vacancy has only come up because our previous accounts manager, who had been with us for 11 years, sadly passed away recently.
We are therefore looking for someone with an easy-going nature, who is discreet and trustworthy, due to the sensitive information that passes through the accounts office.
