Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in a solo residential children’s home based in Kettering.
About the Role:
You will be supporting a young person in a solo placement, providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where they can thrive. This role requires emotional resilience, patience, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
Building positive, trusting relationships with the young person
Supporting the young person with daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and life skills
Promoting independence and encouraging positive behaviours
Working in line with care plans, safeguarding policies, and regulatory standards
Recording accurate and detailed daily reports and incidents
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential or care setting (preferred but not essential)
A calm, empathetic, and reliable nature
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce (desirable, or willingness to work towards it)
