In this role, you will work closely with a bespoke provision that caters to small groups of primary-aged children (2-7 pupils) who have been excluded from mainstream education. Your primary responsibility will be to support these students in their academic, behavioural, and emotional development, helping them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

As an Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualised learning plans and implement strategies to engage and motivate students. You will provide one-on-one support and guidance, as well as facilitate group activities and lessons designed to enhance social skills, self-esteem, and academic performance.

To excel in this position, you should possess a strong understanding of the unique needs of children who have experienced exclusion from mainstream education. You must be patient, empathetic, and able to build trusting relationships with students, their families, and colleagues. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as you will be working with children who may exhibit challenging behaviours.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly those with special educational needs or behavioural difficulties. A relevant qualification in education, social work, or a related field is advantageous. You should be well-versed in safeguarding practices and committed to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

In return for your dedication and expertise, our client offers a supportive and collaborative work environment, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children.
