Location: DE4, Derbyshire
Day Rate: £95-£105 per day
Contract: Long-term to permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4pm
Start Date: September 2025

Are you a patient, proactive, and compassionate teaching assistant with experience supporting pupils with special educational needs?

We're working with a nurturing, community-focused primary school in the DE4 area to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a focus on delivering 1:1 and small group interventions. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity ideal for someone who thrives on making a real difference to children who need additional support with their learning and emotional development.

The Role:
* Deliver targeted interventions for pupils with additional needs
* Support children with a range of SEN, including speech & language difficulties, autism, and learning delay
* Work 1:1 and in small groups to develop confidence, engagement and academic progress
* Use visual timetables, structured routines and personalised strategies
* Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
* Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support plans
* Create a calm, inclusive environment where all learners feel safe and supported

The Ideal Candidate:
* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
* Experience supporting pupils with SEN (ASD, communication needs, developmental delay)
* Confident delivering interventions in literacy and numeracy
* Calm, consistent and flexible approach
* Comfortable supporting emotional needs and behaviour where required
* Able to build strong, positive relationships with children and staff
