Job Opportunity: Interim Strategic Workforce Planning Partner
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid working)
Contract: 6 months (with opportunity to apply for a permanent role)
Rate: £250-£300 per day (inside IR35)

We're excited to announce a brand-new opportunity to join one of my large public sector clients as an interim Strategic Workforce Planning Partner. This pivotal role will lead the development and implementation of their Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) process, ensuring my clients' workforce is aligned with the organisation's long-term goals and strategic priorities. You'll be at the forefront of shaping how my client uses people data, integrate talent strategies, and build a future-ready workforce that unlocks value and drives performance.

The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Design and implement a strategic workforce planning process that enhances organisational capacity and capability.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure SWP integrates seamlessly with other people processes (e.g. talent, learning, performance).
  • Continuously improve processes to align with strategic priorities and enhance the employee experience.
  • Translate strategic goals into a future-focused workforce strategy.
  • Identify talent gaps and proactively align talent allocation with value creation.
  • Champion the integration of SWP with broader people strategies.
  • Support and challenge leaders to think critically about talent decisions.
  • Drive the use of accurate and relevant people data, developing metrics to assess talent health and process effectiveness.
  • Influence senior leaders to adopt and embed SWP practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience in strategic workforce planning or a related people strategy role.
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for using data to drive decisions.
  • Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Experience integrating workforce planning with broader HR processes.
