Summary
Job OverviewThe Senior engineer is the absolute life blood of our business , they will be the critical friend to the engineer and the first line management into the leadership teams , they will generally be the best engineers in the team and with experience will also have developed leadership abilities , they will be responsible for the basic day to day welfare of the engineers in their charge, but be fully supported by the RPS and the REM. They will also be the person who looks at continuous improvement of our engineering workforce, they will take a hand in development of their engineers, to ensure the team moves from strength to strength. They will also be the person who is big enough to have those difficult conversations with engineers when needed and be the one to foster that mutual respect needed for this role.
Main Duties
-Keep on top of our audits and compliance and ensure these are done in the due month every time.
-Manage and own the on-call rota.
-Be an in-region escalation point!
-Assist the RPS & REM as needed!
-Coach engineers in awareness: e.g. what is and is not 2nd person job, use of Verisae, high quality dockets.
-Van stock control
-Stores control (if in region)
-Work with RPS on docket quality.
-Drive information on quoting tool, so works can be completed by anyone, and work can be defended
What we are looking for
-Basic Line management skills
-Working knowledge of current standards and codes of practice
-Critical thinking skills
-Highly self-motivated and dependable.
-Be highly Adaptable and have a willingness to work in a flexible fashion.
-Good written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to asses' technical risk
