TL;DR:Location:Remote Contract: FT 35hrs PW M-F Salary:£25,500 - £30,500

Role Purpose: As a Finance Officer, you'll play a crucial role in making sure our finances run smoothly, funding claims are spot-on, and our welfare-to-work programmes stay compliant and effective.

Success in this role looks like: Accurate and timely financial processing, full compliance with all funding and regulatory requirements, and strong collaboration with programme and compliance teams to drive efficiency and support delivery.

Your Role: What You'll Achieve

At Get Set UK, we transform lives by helping people into work, and your role will be pivotal to that mission.You'll manage key financial functions, from processing invoices and expenses to submitting funding claims and supporting payroll.You'll also collaborate across teams to ensure everything aligns with contracts, regulations, and our high internal standards.

This is a hands-on, detail-driven role that requires accuracy, compliance, and proactive communication.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

Financial Operations
  • Process purchase/sales invoices, staff expenses, and petty cash with precision

  • Manage reconciliations for bank accounts, company credit cards, and purchase systems

  • Submit payment runs and maintain clean records for audits and stakeholders

  • Raise sales invoices and manage remittance

Compliance & Claims
  • Ensure all finance activity complies with DWP, ESFA, and government contracts

  • Monitor funding compliance and audit financial records to minimise risk

  • Submit accurate and timely funding claims in partnership with programme teams

  • Support internal controls and financial reporting requirements

Payroll & System Support
  • Reconcile payroll data and collaborate with HR to ensure accuracy

  • Maintain and improve financial systems; support training for internal teams

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with auditors, funders, and internal teams to ensure transparency and readiness

  • Build effective relationships that support operational success

Continuous Improvement
  • Spot opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline financial processes

  • Keep up to date with financial regulations and funding changes to stay ahead

Who You Are

You're a confident, accurate, and organised finance professional with an eye for detail and a passion for compliance.You might already work in a finance department, or be a finance graduate looking to grow in a mission-led organisation.

Above all, you're a collaborative problem solver who can deliver results while keeping everything tight, tidy, and fully compliant.

Specifically, you bring:

  • Experience in finance operations (accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, claims)

  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping, audits, and funding requirements

  • Proficiency in finance software and MS Excel

  • Great communication skills with the ability to explain finance to non-finance colleagues

  • AAT part-qualified (or equivalent) or relevant work experience

  • Strong attention to detail and deadline management
