Looking for a rewarding and fulfilling career making an outstanding difference to the lives of vulnerable young people?
Join us at SWAAY to re-parent traumatised and abused children, who have displayed harmful sexual behaviours, supporting them to
achieve their aspirations whilst we support you to achieve yours!
Salary: From £24,570 - £12.60 p/h (depending on experience and qualifications) + sleep ins (adding at least £2,730 to your annual
income)
37.5 hours per week. Shifts include 3pm-11pm, 10am-11pm, sleep ins, across weekdays and weekends. 6 week rolling rota.
We are looking for a dedicated and nurturing Therapeutic Residential Worker to join our team to build meaningful relationships
with our young people, supporting them to thrive and reach their full potential. You will be a positive role model to the young
people in our care, with the ability to maintain boundaries to keep our young people safe whilst meeting their emotional and
developmental needs.
Whether you are already experienced in residential childcare or looking for a new career, we want to hear from you! It would be
great if you have an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, but if not we will fully support you to achieve this
qualification.
At SWAAY, we don’t just provide residential care – we create homes where children feel safe and valued, providing them with the
stability, care and opportunities they deserve. We are proud of our child-centred approach, commitment to trauma-informed practice
and drive to achieve the best possible outcomes for every young person.
For over 30 years, we have been committed to providing specialised, high-quality residential care, education and therapy for young
males, aged 11-18 with developmental trauma who have displayed sexually harmful behaviour. We work to reduce the risk our young
people pose, meet their complex needs and help them to manage their physical and behavioural difficulties, so they can leave their
past traumas behind, build healthy relationships and lead responsible and rewarding adult lives.
As a Therapeutic Residential Worker, your responsibilities include:
* Creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing and inclusive home environment
* Supporting our young people to develop the skills and tools that prepare them for successful adult lives
* Recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns to keep the young people safe
* Promoting the health and wellbeing of each child
* Supervising the young people with day to day activities and visits
* Utilising trauma-informed approaches to support positive outcomes
What do we offer?
* Ongoing training and development opportunities to support career aspirations, including Attachment Informed Approaches (Dyadic
Developmental Practice - DDP).
* Fully funded NVQ Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved)
* 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Programme, with access to support and guidance in many areas including home life,
health/lifestyle and legal support
* Cycle to Work Scheme
* Death in Service Scheme
* Regular Supervisions
* Meals provided whilst on shift
* Blue Light Discount providing offers in retail, hospitality and more
* Length of Service Bonus
* £750 Employee Referral Bonus
