Summary

Subcontractor Supervisor - Social Housing (Minor Works)

Location: Basildon (Office and Site Based)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We're looking for an experienced Subcontractor Supervisor to join our Minor Works team delivering high-quality services across social housing properties in Basildon and surrounding areas. This role is office and site-based - ideal for someone who can lead from the front, manage subcontractors effectively, and ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors carrying out minor works, including responsive repairs, planned works, and void property refurbishments

  • Ensure quality, health & safety, and compliance standards are met across all projects

  • Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and progress reviews

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and drive improvements where needed

  • Liaise with residents, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery

  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation relating to jobs and site activities

  • Support project planning and ensure works are delivered to agreed budgets and timescales

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience supervising subcontractors in a social housing or property maintenance environment

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, health & safety legislation, and compliance requirements

  • Scaffolding experience or qualifications highly desirable

  • NVQ Level 3 in Construction, Site Supervision, or relevant trade discipline essential

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and people-management skills

  • IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office and job management systems

  • Full UK Driving Licence (company vehicle provided )
