Estimator Opportunity
My client is a well-established and fast-growing Housebuilder, known for delivering high-quality homes, working on major developments across the UK. Due to a significant increase in key projects, the company is now looking for an Estimator to join their South Midlands based Commercial Team. Working closely with the Land Team, you will be responsible for preparing full development budgets, estimates, and cashflows from pre-land acquisition through to final budget handover.
As an Estimator, you will take responsibility for:
- Preparing detailed construction budgets, estimates, and cashflows to support land appraisals and acquisition decisions
- Liaising with internal teams and external consultants to assess design, engineering, and planning considerations
- Supporting the land and development teams by advising on specification, house type mix, and cost-effective design solutions
- Coordinating and issuing tender enquiries, analysing subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Producing internal BOQs and ensuring accurate pricing for budgets and financial reviews
- Maintaining and updating cost databases and pricing strategies to reflect current market conditions
- Participating in key project meetings, including feasibility reviews, tender settlements, and project handovers
Estimator Requirements:
- Ideally HNC qualified in Construction or similar discipline
- Previous Estimating experience, preferably working with a residential housebuilder.
- Proficiency in producing internal BOQs and using industry-standard software
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to build effective relationships across departments
- A full UK driving licence and a flexible, proactive attitude towards workload and business needs
Other desirable skills include:
- Housebuilding / Residential experience
- Knowledge of ConQuest and/or Bluebeam software
