Summary
A thriving secondary school in Bradford is seeking a dedicated and skilled Teacher of Science to join their dynamic Science Department in September 2025. This is a full-time position that will involve teaching motivating lessons to students at Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for Key Stage 5 teaching based on experience. What You'll Need to Apply- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Current knowledge of the National Curriculum for Science.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
- Exceptional subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, and/or physics.
- The ability to differentiate lessons effectively for diverse student groups.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
- Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Experience with data-driven teaching and assessment.
- A commitment to reflective teaching practices.
- Deliver engaging science lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable).
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and homework assignments.
- Grade and assess student work according to departmental and national standards.
- Tailor teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners.
- Cultivate a safe and positive learning atmosphere.
- Work collaboratively with the science department and other school staff.
- Promote scientific literacy and a sense of curiosity.
- Ensure all practical activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
