A thriving secondary school in Bradford is seeking a dedicated and skilled Teacher of Science to join their dynamic Science Department in September 2025. This is a full-time position that will involve teaching motivating lessons to students at Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for Key Stage 5 teaching based on experience. What You'll Need to Apply
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Current knowledge of the National Curriculum for Science.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or the willingness to apply for one).
Key Skills and Attributes
  • Exceptional subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, and/or physics.
  • The ability to differentiate lessons effectively for diverse student groups.
  • Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience with data-driven teaching and assessment.
  • A commitment to reflective teaching practices.
Your Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging science lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable).
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and homework assignments.
  • Grade and assess student work according to departmental and national standards.
  • Tailor teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Cultivate a safe and positive learning atmosphere.
  • Work collaboratively with the science department and other school staff.
  • Promote scientific literacy and a sense of curiosity.
  • Ensure all practical activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Stay current with scientific advancements and incorporate them into your teaching.
  • Collaborate with technicians to ensure resources are used effectively.
