Summary
A Vacancy at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
An opportunity for a full-time Band 5 nurse has arisen in the Gynaecology Nursing Team based Watford Hospital.
The post will be part of the Gynae Ambulatory team (GACU) and will support patients undergoing a variety of gynaecology tests, procedures and surgeries.
Your core days will be Mon-Fri doing long shifts. As part of the gynae nursing team there will be a requirement to support other gynae clinics as required.
The ideal candidate would contribute towards sharing best practice within the gynaecology department and Trust wide.
They would actively work towards regularly taking charge, prioritising workload according to changing clinical need and external demands.
Acting professionally, setting standards of practice promoting clinical effectiveness and seek out opportunities for teaching others.
Participate in staff education and development where able, including utilising appropriate learning opportunities and to act as a mentor and resource for student nurses, adaptation and unqualified members of the nursing team.
With a new hospital planned for Watford and work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital, this is an exciting time to join us.

To provide all care to patients with gynaecology conditions and/or undergoing gynaecology procedures and surgeries without supervision and be able to demonstrate correct processes, supervise unqualified and junior staff whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
Work with the ward sister/charge nurse and multidisciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining policies, standards of nursing care and staff development, as part of the ward team.
