Summary

We are looking for a Centre Assistant to join us, working between our two idyllic Nature Discovery Centres at Abberton Reservoir, Layer-de-la-Haye, Colchester and Fingringhoe Wick, Colchester.

Our Nature Discovery Centres offer visitors a warm welcome and the opportunity to find out about the wildlife at the sites whilst enjoying hot and cold refreshments and a gift shop, run by a friendly team and wonderful volunteers who are passionate about providing fantastic customer service to our visitors.

The postholder, who will be based across the two locations, will need to be a team player who can interact with our visitors in a friendly and engaging way, ensuring excellent customer service is always at the forefront. Working predominately within the cafe, the post holder will be taking orders, preparing and serving hot and cold food and beverage orders and cleaning tables. We are looking for a friendly individual with an interest in catering, nature and wildlife in this visitor engagement role. Profits from our Nature Discovery Centre's are used to fund the conservation, educational and other key work of the Trust.

The position is a one-year fixed term role working 16 hours per week between Monday and Sunday on a rota basis to include weekend and bank holiday working. The starting salary is £10,158.72 per annum (FTE £23,809.50).
