The Capability and Compliance Team within the Department for Transport (DfT) Resourcing Group supports hiring managers across the central department and executive agencies (DVLA, DVSA, VCA, MCA, ATE). We equip them with the skills and tools needed to run compliant, effective recruitment campaigns that align with the Department’s strategic goals.
This is a part-time position (17 hours per week) for a Capability and Compliance Partner to join team, you will be responsible for ensuring that hiring managers have the training and tools required to run their own recruitment campaigns, including for contractor recruitment. This will involve working with business areas to identify gaps in knowledge and address these, as well as using data provided by the team on common queries and issues.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with hiring managers and business units to understand their recruitment and strategic requirements
- Ensure that your team is working within agreed service levels for activities, including responding the hiring manager queries and conducting quality checks
- Identify and share recruitment trends with the wider team
- Identify opportunities for improvements in recruitment policy and processes, aiming to reduce time to hire, the quality of hire, and improve the hiring manager and candidate experience
- Working with your team and business areas to identify hiring manager training requirements in terms of recruitment and onboarding. To do this, you will use data such as common queries, hiring manager feedback, and identified errors and compliance issues
- Working with your team to develop guidance and training to support hiring managers with their recruitment campaigns
- Ensure that hiring managers remain compliant throughout the recruitment process, following the Civil Service Commission Recruitment Principles, employment law, and other departmental policies and procedures
