Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team in Yeovil, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations.
- Assist in the general cleaning of the kitchen area, including floors, walls, and work surfaces
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are properly sanitised and stored
- Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Help with the receipt and storage of deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation
- Dispose of waste in accordance with established procedures
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods
- Perform regular deep cleaning tasks as scheduled
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment faults to the kitchen manager
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a catering environment is preferred
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring thorough cleaning and proper food handling
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Good customer service skills and a friendly demeanour
- Flexible approach to work, including willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
- Basic knowledge of proper food handling and storage procedures
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
