Summary
On a day-to-day basis the Post Room Admin Officer will work in a lively, fast-paced environment, communicating with a range of stakeholders to effectively process mail and associated documentation. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to identify inefficiencies in the mail handling and registry procedures, with the opportunity to propose improvements where processes are deficient.
The successful candidate will undertake a variety of tasks that contribute to the smooth-running of RAF Waddington, including, but not limited to:
Serving on the front counter, dealing with customers and couriers with incoming and outgoing mail.
Using the online system to book in parcels, sort mail, operate weighing, preparing dispatch documentation and deal with deliveries.
Ensuring that outbound items are dispatched in the most cost-effective manner, balancing customer requests with business requirement.
Ensuring compliance with security procedures for handling sensitive materials, reporting any suspected breaches where required.
Maintenance and audit of central registry files.
Any other administrative duties, commensurate with grade and role.
