Are you interested in working for the largest local authority in Scotland, in partnership with the NHS, to help improve the health and wellbeing of our community? Then, you are in the right place!

At Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP), our Welfare Rights Team provides direct support to Social Work service users across all care groups. This includes advice on all aspects of benefit entitlements and representation at appeal tribunals.

We are currently recruiting a Welfare Rights Officer to join one of our locality offices, working alongside a small team of other Welfare Rights Officers. In this role, you will:
• Support GCHSCP staff with simple benefit matters for their service users
• Work directly with service users on more complex cases
• Ensure individuals receive all benefits to which they are entitled
• Advocate on behalf of service users with external agencies such as DWP and Social Security Scotland
• Collaborate with other Welfare Rights sub-teams across the city

We are looking for someone with:
• Expert knowledge of the benefits system and relevant legislation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to support vulnerable individuals with empathy and professionalism

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above role will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
