Join Our Team as a Specialist SEN Teacher - Empower Learners Across Surrey
Hourly Rate: £28-32 per hour (PAYE) - dependent on individual case complexity
Location: Surrey Heath and surrounding areas
Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term-Time Only)
Hours: 9:00 am-4:30 pm (flexible working available)
Role Focus: Face-to-Face, Individualised Teaching for learners with SEN, SEMH, SEMD, and complex medical needs
Are you a qualified teacher with a passion for inclusive, person-centred education?
We are seeking QTS-qualified Specialist SEN Teachers to provide face-to-face, one-to-one teaching to children and young people with a wide range of additional needs. This rewarding role involves delivering tailored academic and emotional support to learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, Sensory and Emotional Developmental Difficulties (SEMD), and complex medical conditions.
Your Role Will Include:
- Creating Therapeutic Learning Environments: Build safe, structured spaces that support emotional regulation and academic confidence.
- Designing Individualised Learning Pathways: Deliver bespoke educational programmes aligned with EHCPs and learner strengths.
- Collaborating with Families and Professionals: Work closely with parents, carers, and multi-agency teams to ensure continuity of care and progress.
- Fostering Emotional and Academic Growth: Use trauma-informed and neurodiverse-friendly approaches to nurture resilience, self-esteem, and achievement.
- Modelling Positive Behaviour and Communication: Support learners in developing emotional literacy, social skills, and independence through consistent, empathetic guidance.
What You'll Bring:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Minimum of two years' experience in SEN or inclusive education settings
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum, with ability to differentiate across Maths, English, and Science
- Experience supporting learners across Key Stages 1-4
- Proven ability to work with children with complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, trauma, and medical vulnerabilities
- Resilience and adaptability to meet the emotional and behavioural needs of learners
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service and legal right to work in the UK
- Up-to-date safeguarding training and a commitment to child protection
