Are you a Band 5 Occupational Therapist with experience and looking to make a difference? We’re excited to invite you to join our Inpatient Learning Disability and Autism Service at Brooklands Hospital.

This is a developmental role where, after successfully completing an agreed professional competencies action plan, you’ll have the opportunity to progress to a Band 6 position after a minimum of 12 months.

Brooklands Hospital is an Inpatient Service for individuals with a Learning Disability and Autism. Occupational Therapy plays a key role in our treatment pathways, providing tailored assessment and intervention to support individuals throughout their inpatient journey.

You’ll bring experience working with people with Learning Disabilities and Autism, along with an understanding of the assessment and management of this client group. While experience in Secure or Forensic settings isn’t essential, we do welcome applicants who are aware of and interested in working within Learning Disability and Autism inpatient services.

As part of our friendly and well-established multidisciplinary teams, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow your skills and knowledge working with a diverse and often complex client group. You’ll receive excellent support through supervision, as well as regular opportunities for professional development and networking.

Working as part of the Occupational Therapy Team, you will provide input across our Learning Disability & Autism Inpatient Services.

You will provide effective evidence based Occupational Therapy intervention and contribute to the maintenance and development of the therapeutic environment. This includes addressing and overcoming functional impairments and barriers that prevent people from participating in activities of daily living and meaningful occupation.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment programmes to clients with learning disabilities and / or Autism and complex needs.
