About us

We’re FBC UK – Fox’s Burton’s Companies – and we bake some of the nation’s most incredible biscuits (we might be a little biased, but we’ll let you decide!). Formed from the merger of Burton’s and Fox’s Biscuits, we’re proud to be home to iconic brands like Maryland, Jammie Dodgers, Rocky and Fox’s.

We’re trusted manufacturing partners to leading UK retailers and household names, baking across eight sites – from Isle of Arran to Dorset – and at our HQ in St Albans. Together, we’re a team of around 4,000 brilliant colleagues.

At FBC UK, we’re building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels empowered to grow. By embracing diversity, equity and inclusion, we create a supportive environment where people thrive and make a positive impact.

We believe learning is key to personal and professional development. That’s why we offer a mix of formal training and hands-on experiences, helping colleagues learn from each other and grow every day. Our people make us special. With strong community values, we celebrate authenticity, entrepreneurial spirit and teamwork – making FBC UK a fun and fulfilling place to work.

The role

Are you a multi-skilled engineer with an electrical or mechanical bias, seeking a rewarding career that offers personal development, career progression, and recognition for your achievements? If so, FBC UK has exciting opportunities for mechanical and electrical specialists to join our FMCG engineering maintenance team in Blackpool, Lancashire.

As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you’ll provide high-quality support to our production operations by maintaining, repairing, and improving plant and equipment—ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime across our biscuit manufacturing systems. This role requires a proactive approach to both planned and reactive maintenance, with a strong emphasis on safety, hygiene, and product quality.

You’ll be part of a team of 20 skilled mechanical and electrical FMCG engineers, supported by a management team that actively encourages professional development and internal progression. Whether you're a mechanical engineer, electrician, or multi-skilled maintenance specialist, this is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your expertise, increase your value, and be rewarded for your growth.

Our maintenance teams operate seven days a week, providing 24-hour coverage via a Panama shift pattern, with both day and night shifts available. Overtime is paid at 1.5x the standard rate, and Easter and Christmas shutdown periods are paid at overtime rates for those scheduled to work.
