Position: Deputy Manager
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £14.96 per hour
Expected Hours: 40 per week
2 days office cover / 2 days floor cover
Working on a rolling shift pattern
Flexible attitude to working hours required for covering absence, holidays, including bank holidays, evenings, weekends, and participation in the on-call rota
Work Location: In person at The Ferns Care Home, 152, Longden Road, Shrewsbury, SY3 9ED

Aim of the Job:

Supporting the Registered Manager in the daily operations of The Ferns Care Home. You will be responsible for managing, delivering, and leading high-quality care as part of the care team, using a person-centred approach.

Main Duties Include:

Staff Management: Ensure comprehensive inductions, manage the rota, oversee Personal Development Plans, and participate in the night shift and on-call rotas.
The Home: Take responsibility for the establishment, its resources, services, and financial management.
Communication: Maintain confidential communications, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and act as a deputy in the absence of the Home Manager.
Personal Care & Support: Ensure service users are provided care in line with their care plan using a person-centred approach.
Administration Tasks: Lead projects, maintain records, write digital care plans and support the Registered Manager with administrative duties.
Health & Safety: Adhere to health & safety regulations and Covid-19 measures.
Teamwork: Work effectively as part of a team, support ongoing professional development, and promote a positive working environment.
