Your New Job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed and experienced Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary school in the Tameside area. This full-time role is to start in September and will run for the full academic year, with the potential for extension or permanent placement. You will be supporting students aged 11-19 with a wide range of complex learning needs, including autism spectrum conditions, physical disabilities, and communication challenges. The role involves working closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis. You'll help pupils access a broad, engaging curriculum and contribute to their social and emotional development in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs, ideally in a school setting
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to working with learners with complex needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one through Hays)
