Job Details

Hunger and poverty are having a detrimental effect on children’s ability to concentrate and engage in their school learning. Hunger often leads to lethargy and sometimes even disruptive behaviour, which ultimately leads to children not engaging in the classroom.

A Childcare Practitioner working in a Breakfast Café will provide a safe, secure environment before school where all children attending are provided with a healthy breakfast (ranging from cereal, toast, fruit and yoghurts).

Breakfast Cafés are a drop in services and are not a registered childcare provision.

Operational hours 7.45am-9am included with the children attending from 8am.

Visit our website to find out more information about our Out of School Clubs.

The Person

We are looking for someone who:

Has understanding and experience working in a catering environment role.
Understands dietary and nutritional needs.
Organisational skills.
Willing to work as part of a team.
Fun, engaging and adaptable.
In return you will benefit from access to a wide range of professional learning and training opportunities.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.

We particularly encourage applications from men, who are currently underrepresented within this type of work.
