Summary

A Vacancy at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our Occupational Therapy team at Reaside Clinic with the aim of becoming a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist following successfully completing an 18 month development plan.

This development opportunity guarantees preceptorship and support to enable Band 6 readiness within an 18 month time frame. If successful, there would be a requirement to complete band 6 OT competencies before the band 6 post was offered.

As an Allied Health Professional in BSMHFT you have access to a dedicated programme of support throughout your first year and beyond. You will enrol on the 12 month Multi-Professional Preceptorship Programme, this includes taught sessions, reflective practice and monthly development meetings. Following completion you will have the opportunity to engage in ‘Beyond Preceptorship’ which offers taught sessions and directed learning designed to develop skills across leadership, education and research and encourage you to think about your career development.

Reaside Clinic is a 92 bedded male medium secure service in South Birmingham that is part of the secure care and offender pathway. Reaside Clinic has good transport links and is close to rail and motorway networks.

The post holder will work within the established Occupational Therapy Team supporting service users on admission and during their recovery through delivering comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, formulation, interventions and group programmes.
