Are you a recent graduate seeking meaningful, hands-on experience in education?

Do you have a genuine interest in supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN) or other barriers to learning?

An inclusive and welcoming secondary school in Barnet is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term position ideally suited to a graduate who wants to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable students, while developing valuable skills for a future in teaching, educational psychology, or youth work.

The Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, your role will centre around supporting students who require additional guidance and encouragement in order to thrive. This includes working with:

• Students with mild to moderate SEN, such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs
• Pupils facing emotional, behavioural, or social challenges
• Students who need academic catch-up support through 1:1 sessions and small group work
• Close to the Northern Line – Just 5 Minutes from the Nearest Tube Station
• Earn up to £600 per week | Full-time | 1-Year Contract
• Start Date: September 2025

You’ll work under the guidance of the school’s SENDCo and classroom teachers, helping students to stay engaged, feel supported, and make steady progress in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to pupils across KS3 and KS4
• Assist in delivering EHCP targets and learning plans
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students who may struggle with confidence or routine
• Support teachers with classroom organisation and behaviour management
• Help students develop independent learning skills and self-esteem

What We’re Looking For:

• A recent graduate with a strong sense of empathy and patience
• Interest or experience in working with SEN, mental health, or inclusion (personal or professional experience welcomed)
• A calm, encouraging approach and strong communication skills
• Ability to commit to a full-time role from September 2025 to July 2026

Why This School?

• Highly regarded secondary school in Barnet, with excellent SEN provision
• Only a short walk from a Northern Line station – very well connected
• Supportive SEND department with training provided
• Friendly, inclusive ethos focused on student well-being and progress
• Ideal experience for those considering a career in teaching, psychology, therapy or youth work

Salary & Details:

• Full-time (Mon–Fri), term-time role
• Up to £600 per week, depending on experience
• 1-year contract via KPI Education, with weekly pay
