Summary
The Access Control Clerk will organise and control the Wattisham Flying Station Civilian Pass Office and support the guard force including MPGS, ensuring that clerical support and customer relations are provided to a high standard. suspected breach of security.
Key responsibilities:
Keep records of all vetting and will issue permanent, temporary personnel and vehicle passes as required.
Responsible to the Station Security Officer, who is also the Establishment Security Officer. You will also be required to trace individuals and thereby authorised to undertake vetting checks and provide information assistance in accordance with the Data Protection Act into any
Organise and control the Station Civilian Pass Office as directed by the Station Security Officer (SSO).
Initiating of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and SC Vetting procedures including Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) and Criminal Record Certificates where required.
Maintaining a register of Security Clearances.
Preparation and issue of SISYS - visitor authentication system; produced Security and Vehicle Passes to all MOD Civilians, Service Dependants, Contract Employees, Service Personnel (vehicle passes only) and visitors.
Liaison with Contract Managers and Departments on security matters.
Operating the SISYS Computer Generated and manual (default) Pass System.
Maintain a Master List of all Appointments requiring BPSS and SC clearance.
Running / Updating Caravan Pass Database.
Running / Updating Casual Users List for Recreational Facilities.
Signing Clearance Forms for Soldiers leaving Station and tracking and collecting passes of civilian personnel on leaving employment at Wattisham.
Teaching new Military Provost Guard Service (MPGS) soldiers to operate the temporary and permanent SISYS computerised pass system at the Main Gate to enable coverage for leave and out of hours.
Liaison with engineers regarding repairs and servicing of system.
Follow up action on outstanding/lost passes.
Ordering and control of all stationery requirements for the system including costings.
General Administration of the Pass Control Office.
Additional tasking as required including: ‘Op Wide Awake’, Reception Duties, Postal, Health and Safety, Fire Tests, Focal Point information cascade, etc.
Crisis Management & Contractor System case to be gained in post.
