Summary
They are a small team offering a friendly and high quality service to all our clients and horses and believe in supporting each other in order to improve and progress.
The position is for a non-ridden or ridden apprentice who is
looking to step into the equine industry and develop their knowledge and
understanding of running and managing a yard of horses and has an open and
willing attitude to learn.
The role involves
general yard and grooming duties including but not limited to, turning out, bringing in, rug changes, grooming, tacking up, lunging and mucking out.
They regularly attend dressage shows.
You will be fully supported
in your apprenticeship from a knowledgeable and experience team therefore prior
experience is not essential but must have a great attitude.
They are situated in
a small village and so the ability to drive or have a method of getting here is
vital.
Working hours are on a rota basis and there will be some weekend work.
The apprenticeship is based on site in a practical environment so not lots of time spent in a classroom. If you did not gain your GCSE's in Maths and English we can support you whilst on programme.
The interview will consist of a trial day at the yard.
To apply for this role you must be a UK resident or have lived in the EU for 3 years.
Training
All training will be provided on
site during your paid working hours.
Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination
of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training
Trainer Coach.
Qualifications required
A GCSE or equivalent pass in English
and maths is beneficial but not essential.
If you do not have passes, we will support you in achieving your
Functional Skills English and maths qualifications alongside your apprenticeship.
Skills required
Some previous experience with horses would be desirable.Team work and good communication skills. Use of initiative to complete tasks in a timey and efficient manner.
