Summary
Job Overview We are a 10-doctor GP training practice serving a patient population of 16,000. Our friendly and supportive team is seeking an experienced Part Time Practice Nurse to join our well-established nursing team, currently made up of five nurses. The successful candidate must have experience of working in a general practice setting and experience of infection prevention and control measures. Hours are negotiable and salary competitive and dependant on experience. Duties Delivering exceptional patient care, including wound management, removal of sutures and staples, performing ECG's, venepuncture, administering immunisations (routine, childhood and travel) and skilled in Woman's health (cervical Cytology, contraception). Develop and review audit protocols and process for the practice, effectively utilising the audit cycle. Develop, review and implement nursing protocols in conjuction with the partners. Support all members of the nursing team and providing guidance when necessary. Skills Excellent communication skills (written and oral). Effective time management. Ability to work as a team member and autonomously. Ability to record accurate clinical notes. Ability to work within own scope of practice and understanding when to refer to GP's. Knowledge of health promotion strategies.
