Summary

Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council Children’s Services have exciting opportunities for Social Workers in our Families First Service.
We are looking to recruit a Social Worker to assist and empower service users to develop their potential for independence and enable them to exercise choices wherever possible.
You will work with secondary and primary schools, social services and local partners to improve children’s and young people’s lives by overcoming barriers to learning.

You will hold your own caseload and ensure the implementation of plans and monitor progress that involves service users, carers and professional agencies.
It is essential that you have experience of working with children and families, hold a DipSW/degree or equivalent recognised social work qualification, and be registered with Social Care Wales. Crucially, you are committed to working in partnership with families, your team and other professionals, helping to create somewhere children have a voice and are heard.
