Summary
Are you a nurturing, experienced Early Years professional with a passion for supporting babies in their earliest stages of development? Snapdragons Shirehampton is looking for a dedicated Deputy Head of Babies to join our outstanding team and help lead our baby room with care, confidence, and creativity.
As Deputy Head of Babies, you will support the Baby Room Leader in delivering outstanding care and learning opportunities for children aged 0–2 years. You’ll take a hands-on role in planning engaging, age-appropriate activities, forming strong bonds with children and families, and helping to lead and inspire a small team of practitioners.
You’ll help create a safe, loving, and stimulating environment where babies can explore, grow, and thrive at their own pace.
Day to Day:
-Build strong relationships with the children and families.
-Create engaging and age appropriate activities for the children in your care to grow and flourish
-Monitor and assess development
-Support your room lead in the running of the room and stepping into leadership when needed.
- Communicate with the nursery manager on matters you feel need sharing
-Model best practice and support the development of other team members
What we ask:
-Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years Childcare
-Experience working with babies in a nursery setting
-A warm, gentle, and responsive approach to care
-Strong knowledge of child development and the EYFS
-Confident communicator and team player
-Organised, proactive, and passionate about high-quality early years care
