Summary
The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) provides infrastructure funding to the NIHR Leeds Clinical Research Facility (NIHR Leeds CRF). The NIHR Leeds CRF supports the delivery of early translational and experimental medicine research, from studies testing new treatments in patients for the very first time (first-in-human trials) through to early safety and efficacy trials (Phase IIa trials) and complex later phase trials. The NIHR Leeds CRF is one of 28 NIHR funded CRFs and provides dedicated purpose-built facilities and expertise for the delivery of high-intensity studies funded by the NIHR, the life sciences industry and other organisations. The NIHR Leeds CRF has 5 delivery sites across the trust: St Jamess CRF: Specialist Early Phase CRF All adult specialities Leeds General Infirmary CRF: Cardiovascular & Neurosciences Leeds Childrens Hospital CRF : All childrens specialities Leeds Dental Institute (DenTCRU) CRF: Dental & Oral Health Chapel Allerton CRF: Musculoskeletal, Dermatology & Rheumatology Over the next 5 years we aim to: Increase the volume of high quality experimental medicine translational research trials Enhance PPIEP and inclusion of patients from underserved groups Attract, retain and develop a diverse group of the best multidisciplinary, diverse individuals as researchers Expand partnerships with public funders/charities/life sciences industry
