Summary
Security Supervisor
Hull
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £26,139 FTE per annum
Annual Leave: 31 days per annum (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 additional discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period)
As our Security Supervisor, you will be a key member of the Premises team, setting high standards and expectations to foster student personal development, positive behaviour, and professional attitudes.
The post holder will line manage the Campus Support Security Officers (CSOs), providing effective supervision, leadership, and support while holding individuals accountable for performance.

Responsibilities of our Security Supervisor:
Supervise and coordinate the daily duties of the Campus Support Officers, ensuring appropriate staff coverage across all areas.
Operate and monitor Paxton access control systems, ensuring secure entry and exit to all college buildings.
Oversee and operate CCTV systems in compliance with GDPR and College procedures; respond effectively to security incidents.
Provide clear direction, regular team meetings, 1:1s, and performance reviews with direct reports.
Promote and model restorative approaches to managing conflict and behaviour.
Act as first response for security-related incidents and emergencies, including fire alarms and lockdowns.
Carry out risk assessments and security inspections; report or resolve issues proactively.
Provide support to students regarding health, wellbeing, behaviour, and access to internal/external support services.
Ensure all incidents, faults, and repairs are logged and reported to the Premises Helpdesk.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety, safeguarding, and emergency response procedures.
What we’re looking for in our Security Supervisor:
SIA Licence (Security Industry Authority)
First Aid / CPR Certificate
Experience supervising or managing a team
Experience using CCTV systems in a professional environment
Computer literacy (basic reporting, emails, incident logs)
Ability to respond to conflict, de-escalate and resolve issues calmly
Awareness of safeguarding, health & safety, and equality legislation
