I am a woman in my 40s with MS. I live with my son and husband, and our pet cat.

I am a friendly person, with a good sense of humour. I like to see the brighter side of life and laugh at things when they invariably go wrong. I am a glass half full kind of person. Where there's a will there is a way!

I am looking for a female PA with a similar outlook on life to help me lead an independent life. I will need help with personal care and help around the family home, and running errands/attending appointments/socialising etc in my WAV, that you would drive.

I am a power wheelchair user and use a hoist to transfer, so knowledge and experience would be desirable. I am very independent and like to do as much as I can, and be involved.

Please apply if you could do something. I'm happy to have a job share in place with a few people. I currently have another PA.

Duties include:
- Medication prompting/administering
- Personal grooming
- Moving and handling
- Other relevant duties as required
- Administration
- Housekeeping

- Transportation
- Dressing / undressing
- Catheter care

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Honest and cheerful
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Must be comfortable with pets
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
- A good sense of humour
- Able to work efficiently

Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.
