Salary £26,106 - £28,653 pro rota

The West Yorkshire Police’s city centre-based Finance Department is wishing to recruit a driven, organised, detail orientated and committed individual to undertake the role of Debt Recovery Officer. You will work as part of a small, professional team which provide a comprehensive and proficient debt recovery service to ensure maximum cash flow benefit to the Force.

You will be responsible for:

Acting as the Force’s single point of contact is respect of aged debts working closely with the Force’s Legal Services Department and HMCTS to legally and legitimately pursue outstanding payments.
Contacting the recipients of high value debtor invoices prior to the generation of associated final demands letters to ensure that the debtor is in receipt of all appropriate information surrounding the debt.
Maintaining accurate computerised debt related documentation to ensure full compliance with financial and statutory regulations
Administer bad debt recovery procedures, pursuing all cases to enforce and maximise the collection of revenue in accordance with agreed debt recovery procedures, policies and legislation
Compile debt statistics for periodic debt recovery reviews highlighting pertinent issues and concerns to ensure that the Finance function has a sound understanding of the Force’s outstanding debt levels
