What You’ll Be Doing:
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson planning, delivery, and classroom routines
• Leading 1:1 or small group interventions in literacy, phonics, and maths
• Supporting pupils with additional needs (SEND, EAL, SEMH)
• Encouraging independence, resilience, and a love of learning
• Helping manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive environment
• Supporting preparation of learning resources and contributing to enrichment activities
Ideal Graduate Teaching Assistant For This Southwark School:
• A graduate with a 2:1 or above and a passion for primary education
• Friendly, proactive, and confident in working with children aged 4–11
• Empathetic and patient – especially when working with vulnerable or SEND pupils
• Previous experience (e.g. schools, tutoring, childcare, volunteering) is a plus
• Available full-time from September through July
• Keen to pursue a future in teaching, psychology, or educational support
