Summary

We are looking for a motivated self-starter who will go above and beyond when considering the risk to safety. Someone who has demonstrable and relevant skills in safety management, organisational learning, and who thrives in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Force Protection (FP) is the Principal Adviser on all matters relating to risk to The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 (United Kingdom) Division. The post is responsible for advising Brigade Group Commanders and Commanding Officers on all matters of risk and Duty Holding in accordance with current policy.

Key responsibilities:

The Principal Advisor to GOC 3 (UK) Div on all Force Protection and Health, Safety and Environmental Protection.
Provide advice to the GOC on F&EP in 3 (UK) Div and overseas JAO’s this inc. overseas assurance. As the 2* Advisor assure and audit the process of inspections conducted by RC who deliver the inspection regime in accordance with ACSO 1200 on 3 Div Units.
Provides competent impartial advice and assurance on all major HS&EP issues across their area of responsibility including reviewing the impact of legislation changes.
Assure on behalf of GOC 3 (UK) Div all recommendations from Defence Accident Investigation Branch reports and Boards of Inquiry (Service Inquiries) and external reports.
To ensure that their GOCs/Commanders and subordinate formation commanders are complying with the letter and spirit of the duties set out in the HASAWA 74 and other Defence Policy.
Responsible to the GOC for all overseas assurance and HLB ACSO 9016 OF5/1* High Level Budget assurance.
As the SME for HQ 3 (UK) Div, provide advice, guidance and education on the SRM and DH21 Construct.
Responsible for identification and notification of accidents and incidents and trend analysis within the Division. Using the analysis to brief all 2* and 1* Command Boards on safety performance in accordance with prevailing service instructions and HSE guidance.
Providing advice and guidance to the operational commander deployed on overseas ops.
Helping to promote a positive HS&EP culture and secure the effective implementation of HS&EP policy.
Act as the Divisional lead on the Free from Explosive (FFE) violations certification reporting and holding to account procedures.
Act as the Training Area Representative for the management and assurance of the Overseas Host Nation Enduring Range Portfolio held by GOC 3 (UK) Div as the Range Approving Officer (RAO).
Act as Line Manager for 1 employee.
