The role: We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Technical Support Analyst to join the Digital (IT) team at the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust. This role focuses on second-line IT support with a strong emphasis on managing the full lifecycle of IT hardware assets across the Trust. From maintaining the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to coordinating repairs, disposals, and configuration, you will ensure the Trust’s IT infrastructure operates efficiently.



You will be part of a team that delivers excellent customer service, supports technical troubleshooting, and develops asset management processes to improve service and minimise loss. This role involves travel between sites when required.



Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and update the CMDB for all IT hardware, including asset tagging, tracking, and disposal.
Provide second-line support for end-user devices, peripherals, and associated software.
Configure smartphones and tablets using Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools.
Carry out repairs, replacements, and diagnostics on IT hardware.
Create, review, and refine asset management processes to ensure efficiency and security.
Liaise with the IT Orders team to manage stock levels and deployments.
Support hardware audits and ensure accurate asset data.
Monitor Trust infrastructure and escalate incidents when necessary.
Ensure compliance with Trust IT policies, ITIL best practices, and change control processes.



What the client is looking for:

Diploma in IT or equivalent experience.
ECDL or equivalent knowledge.
Minimum 2 years’ IT support experience.
Strong knowledge of MS Windows OS, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
Intermediate knowledge of LAN, WAN, wireless networking, structured cabling, and PC architecture.
Proficiency with MS Office applications, backup software, and remote access tools.
Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.



Desirable:

ITIL Foundation Certification.
Microsoft Certification.
Experience with network monitoring, telephony, radio systems, and computer-aided dispatch systems.
TCP/IP networking knowledge.
Previous NHS or healthcare IT experience.
