Are you an experienced Buyer with a strong understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, looking to take your career to the next level within a fast-paced business?
£40,000 to £45,000/annum depending on your experience, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays rising to 25 days + 8 Bank Holiday with service, Bupa, DIS and Company Pension.
Monday to Friday 37.5 hours/week with either 8-4pm or 9-5pm.
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally, ensuring exceptional relationship-building with suppliers, and a passion for using their initiative with end to end procurement duties.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with manufacturing needs.
- Source and manage suppliers for raw materials, components, and equipment, focusing on quality, cost, lead times, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to drive savings while maintaining quality and supplier relationships.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, QA, finance, and logistics to align purchasing with operational requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any supply or quality issues.
- Maintain procurement records, generate reports, and ensure policy and regulatory compliance.
- Support continuous improvement to optimise inventory and reduce costs.
- Contribute to supply chain reconciliation and forward planning based on current run rates.
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably within a small medium enterprise environment
- Strong communicator with negotiation and supplier management skills.
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
- Proficiency with procurement and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Reviso is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across departments.
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements relevant to manufacturing.
- Demonstrable experience in import and export is desirable.
